MFT confirms: Media workers are involved in Emergency Pack

The Kosovo Journalists' Association has accepted the official response from the Ministry of Finance and Transitions (MFT) regarding AGK's request for involvement of media workers in the Emergency Pack.

The MFT has confirmed that media workers are involved in the Emergency Pack and can therefore be beneficiaries of financial assistance, as media in this case are considered business, where media are employers and media workers are workers.

Application procedures have not yet been published, as the ministry has confirmed that the operational part is under way.

Point 1.3: Financial support for commercial companies that are in financial trouble as a result of the decline in their activities due to the emergency public health situation, as follows:

• Covering the monthly wage expenses of employees worth an hundred and seventy-seven, for April and May, the measure of up to forty-one million ($11,000.000).

• The lease ownership of up to fifty (50%) of the rental value for small- and medium-sized enterprises, for April and May, the measure of 12 million (2,000,000) euros; and

• Covering the value of pension contributions for salaries related to the previous measures in the decision for April and May, up to eight million (84,000.00) euros;
Point 1.10: Insurance of financial liquidity for:

• Micro-convention and self-employed through specific programs of the Fund for Kosovo's Creditorship, amounting to ten thousand ($1,000) for the period 24 months, worth up to fifteen million ($15,000).

• Trade companies/companies authorized to provide basic services (like those of public enterprises) in return by 31.12.2020, under the specified value of the ruling at 1.4th;

Point 1.14. Financial support for commercial companies registering workers with labor contracts at least one (1) year-old during the period of emergency public health, up from one hundred and thirty ($130) euros for the next two months after the census, worth up to six million (6,000,000 euros)

At the request of March 28, 2020, the AGK had asked the MFT to be included in this package; journalists, cameramen, photoreporters and all media workers, as they are almost on the front line in the battle with the pandemic.

The AGK risks being available during this period in order to find common solutions to facilitate the work of our colleagues.
