“We are facing a major challenge to the health of citizens, and all member states are facing it. Therefore, it should be of interest to all, including Germany, not to get out of the weakened but stronger”, she said.
At a press conference, Merkel announced that a Euro-group meeting will be held tomorrow to discuss the Council of the EU proposal, and said Germany will be as good as Europe will.
She said Euro-group member states are particularly linked and that she expects finance ministers to come up with proposals to overcome the crisis.
Merkel welcomed European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen's proposal to preserve the jobs, saying more effort must be made in this area
