Italy is expected to continue deadlock measures for several more weeks.
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Cuton is expected today to announce an extension of the country's new deadlock measures, during a public address.
Cote kept a call with representatives of the Italian union Thursday and explained that the country was not yet ready to ease restrictions, said Christian Ferari, CGIL Labour Union president in the northeast region of Venato, who was present on the call, told CNN on Friday, broadcast news.net.
According to Ferrari, Ctete said the extension would continue until May 3rd, with only a few exceptions to businesses allowed to reopen a little faster. Fonton continued to show union representatives that this was the only way to protect public health in Italy.
The Italian prime minister is expected to address the country on Friday, a government official source for CNN said. The source declined to comment whether Cite would announce an extension of the deadlock measures.
