MP Gashi: Kurt continues to violate the Constitution and to encroach on the north of the land

Kosovo Assembly MP from the PDK ranks Kujtim Gashi has accused the prime minister of resigning Albin Kurti for the situation created in the north, saying his reckless actions are undermining the sovereignty and security of citizens in northern Kosovo.

In an FCB post, former Culture Minister in the Haradinaj Government has also mentioned the dismissals of the boards and its political appointments to Kurti, at the time the country's north is “mened by Serbia's government.

The violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo on the part of the dismissed prime minister is not new. Such violations, in turn, are dangerous to the country and its citizens. The first time, the Constitutional Court found the violation, while the current violation becomes even more serious because this time citizens' sovereignty and security are violated in northern Kosovo.

Since Serbia's north placed in quarantine northern Kosovo, northern Mitrovica and Zvecanin respectively, while the dismissed prime minister has been cowering in his decisions about different boards by illegally placing party militants, to comfort those who failed in his recent parliamentary elections and not only that. It does not act, nor does it, as the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo imposes, when security and sovereignty are at risk, rather, as confirmed, it was done with the consent of this prime minister, who is being shown without a fully irresponsible vision of the northern citizens of the country. This prime minister, who was in the opposition, broke the country's institutions with plethora behaviour, protesting that we are being torn apart by the northern part of the country. He is exactly the same man who today forgot the north, and he turned his back on the citizens there.

As deputy of the Athic Party of Kosovo in the Republic of Kosovo, I am obliged to remind and ask by Prime Minister Kurti that the north of Kosovo is the same place as when you were in the opposition, as today that you are in charge of the Government of Kosovo. The difference is, now citizens there need your support more than ever, they need the hand of their country. They need basic medical items, as do other municipalities in the south, in the east, and in the west, which to this day you neither get the chance to visit, to see closely the situation confronting the municipalities and citizens of the country at this time of the pandemic, and at war with David-19.

Prime Minister, citizens are expecting the help of the financial and fiscal package, which he proposed. The PDK, while we MPs are expecting this package to be approved as soon as possible in the Republic of Kosovo Assembly. Take action, and do not restep the Constitution.
