In the study, among the 84 patients who received hydroxiclorine, 20.2% were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) or died within seven days. Among the 97 patients who did not take the medicine, 22.1% were admitted to the ICU or died.
Looking only at the deaths, 2.8% of patients who received hydroxhyrium died, and 4.6% of patients who did not receive it died.
