Japan has decided to give free medicine used to treat COVID-19 countries, including Turkey, to treat patients with the new choreography (COVID-19).
The news was delivered by Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi. According to the Kyodo News news agency, Motegi said 20 countries could take the Avian drug, which is currently undergoing clinical tests, including Turkey, Bulgaria, Czechia, Indonesia, Iran, Myanmar and Saudi Arabia.
“Thirty other countries have shown interest in the drug”, Moteg told reporters by adding “We will work with countries interested in developing international Avian clinical studies”.
Avigan, also known as Favipiraver, is an antiviral drug developed by Japan's Toyama Chemical to treat the flu, but researchers in China say it has an effect on the coronary.
Japan has over 4,250 confirmed cases of COVID-19, while 93 have died.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced a month-long state of emergency on Tuesday at least 7 Prefectures from 47, including Tokyo, to prevent the spread of the coronary.
The new measures allow local government to take more rigorous preventive steps, including demand to stay at home and limit the functioning of schools and other services.
