Opposition leader Lulzim Basha in response to journalists' questions, about when the country can emerge from isolation due to COVID-19, stressed that it has no intention of talking in vain when there is still no concrete plan from the government.
In virtual communication with journalists, Basha said that if there were mass testing, the situation would be clear.
The “who speaks for the moment of Albania getting out of isolation should either show us authority or screw up. I don't mean to screw up. We can't tell today what leaks the pandemic will have. We'd say if we had enough tests. Four days ago, there were members of the magic that admitted that the number of infected is greater. Which means the number of victims is greater and the number of carriers in contact with citizens is huge. So the carriers must be isolated. If one person infects two others, the pandemic will expand. So we need to increase the number of tests. Albania needs a new strategy to get out of this situation. You can't get out of a big fire with your eyes tied together and where you don't know where your seats are. On the other hand, you can't tell citizens to stay at home without end. So the number of tests must increase. Let's talk about concrete steps when we don't have a strategy, it's speculation. That's the main problem. So if you don't have a strategy, you're improvised. But it's unintelligible and unforgivable in the 5th or 6th week emergency. This shows that you don't plan and strategy, and then we cut down the hills behind the coast. I have also officially made our view of getting out of this situation. I wait, but not long, to initiate a new strategy for tracking resources and clear representation of the situation. More importantly, transition, from quarantine to reopening the economy. So we need a plan. Nothing replaces the plan, not speaking in the rava, like going to the beach.”, he stressed.
Basha also commented on Rama's statement, which he made today in the Assembly, where he said that according to an expert's prediction, if the measures were not made, there would be 18 thousand deaths in the country.
“18 thousand dead? So if we take it back with the population, Sweden has 119 dead. This shows that what is said in parliament today is false. For me it's a waste of time and for citizens and for you. My call is to end lack of transparency. Truth is not the problem, but the only way to manage the situation today and build the bridge to get out of the crisis. Can't keep people at home indefinitely. We have to say why we seek this sacrifice so the first step is the radical change of tests. Ask people to keep business closed and without a plan, this is irresponsible.”, Basha said.
