The virus has mutated. Now there are at least two known types, Covid 19 originals that exploded in China, and the one that's flowing in Europe and America, which is the product of a mutation.
Recent tests show some important changes from which we understand why this virus has become so contagious in Europe, says the script published in “La Repubblica”
The Blame Is in an Ensemination
Researchers from the University of Maryland (AlDS Research Team Robert Gallo and Italian Davide Zella) along with a team from the Biomedical Campus and Trieste Science Park Zone, observing the virus' RNA composition, discovered variants that would potentially make it more contagious. “Faji”, according to them, lies in a necessary enzyme for repeating the virus called polymerase ARN.
On February 9, the first mutation
They've analyzed 220 genes in the middle of thousands of sequences and published online by scientists from around the world, but Italian and American researchers have focused their attention on mutations in polymerase enzymes. The first showing of this mutation is on February 9th in Great Britain, when it was registered by O A dramatic increase in patients infected in Europe”.
ARN unstable copies except original
This difference in the gene, except that makes it potentially more contagious, Avid 19, makes it even more unstable: the genetic material of the virus is the object of change. In fact, coronarys do not possess DNA, but they do have a similar molecule, RNA. What happens? In practice, whenever you find one organism, “the errors of transliteration” occur as in the case of European and American spread of coronavirus (one is another's derivative: climbing to the US comes mainly from Europe). Because of the February 9 mutation, the virus is spreading copies that are slightly different from the original.
“Scala of ARN virus mutation is very high: this serves the virus to adapt, modulating its virulence”, scientists write. As the virus circulates into so many individuals, as it is now, the chances of mutation only increase further.
Dangers
If David-19 continues to change even a few more of its characteristics, there is the danger that it will become unaware of the memory of the immune system in people who have been cured or vaccinated, so it can again be affected by COVID 19, thus making their vaccines and therapies useless. Many of the antivirals used in hospitals today try to neutralize the enzyme of polymerase.
Our resolution helps us better understand the behavior of the virus” explains Massimo Ciocozi, molecular epidemiologist of Campus Biomedical and director of the medical statistics unit. “Looking forward, it will help us develop a specific vaccine and understand which are the most appropriate” therapies.
