Job Chief Inspector Valon Leci's task officer in an interview for the “Day support” on Telegrafi. com with editor-in-chief Muhamet Hajrullahu, said that during this period of COVID-19, many complaints about layoffs and worker salaries have been accepted.

The show discussed the workers' situation, the implementation of the Labour Law, as well as the role and co-operation that institutions, businesses and the government should have together in this situation.

Leci says most of the businesses are implementing the measures recommended to be protected from pandemic.

We, like the Labour Inspectorate together with other institutions, are trying to do that optimum work in preserving workers' rights. In this period of time, we are focused on maintaining health and security at work, but that doesn't mean that we are ignoring the aspect of the work relationship because now the consequences are also beginning to emerge in terms of the work relationship. Initially, we focused on maintaining health, doing inspections throughout the week, and longer time than regular work schedule”, Leci said.

He said that over 1,500 businesses have been inspected during this period.

“Brenda a month since the pandemic started, we have realised about 1,500 inspections and was focused on functional protective equipment. There have been complaints of workers dealing mainly with wages, with eventual layoffs, with the obligation to take a vacation, where we have begun to deal with these. According to a report I have from the field, the measures are enough to be respected. To a large extent, about 90 percent have respected governmental decisions and guidelines. Even in this area that has not been respected, it is not the cause of the will to be respected. Currently it is better than the beginning, in terms of personal protective equipment”, he said.

Leci in this interview added that, the Labour Inspectorate even after the pandemic period will continue to address the complaints filed.

We've received many complaints since the beginning of the pandemic, different parachutes which were very often not within our legal mandate, but we've carried to other institutions. The main incidents from the beginning have been that workers have the right to work in those companies where they worked, and that's why the necessary clarifications have been made, and then we've had complaints about personal protective equipment and distance. I want to announce all those who filed complaints, that if the Labour Inspectorate has failed to examine these now because of the emergency situation, we'll be here and we'll deal with all those complaints from one of the”, he concluded.
