In Sweden, daily life has largely continued as normal as authorities have taken a radically different approach to treat the virus.

Although more than 50 people's gatherings were banned on Sunday, from 500 earlier, restaurants, bars and shops still serve customers, writes France24, Television records.

While high schools and universities have closed doors, the country is one of the few countries in Western Europe where elementary schools remain open.

And all this “opening” is continuing, even though Sweden has recorded more than 4,400 cases of coronavrus and 180 deaths.

But the government has asked only those who are sick or in groups at risk of staying at home.

Prime Minister Stefan Lofven has asked people to take responsibility “by following health guidelines such as regular hand washing and to isolate themselves if they get sick instead of applying strict social distance measures.

What stands out also is the fact that polls have shown that most Swedes support the government's calm approach.

“We trust our government and trust the” system, a Stockholm resident told AFP.

Yet, there are signs of growing differences amid fears that Sweden may expose itself to an extreme danger.

Last week, a group of senior Swedish health officials sent a letter to the government asking for stronger measures.

Our computer should not be an exception from Europe”, the letter said. We demand that our government take action now! ”
