The 100-year-old veteran dies from the Coronavirus: His twin brother had died of Spanish flu a century earlier

A 100-year-old World War II veteran who died of Covid-10 had lost his brother in 1918's pandemic, his grandson said.

Philip Kahn is the oldest veteran in Nassau County, New York, according to his family and has been afraid that another pandemic would happen in his life, grandson Warren Zysman told CNN, Klan Kosova reports.

Kahn and his brother Samuel were born on December 5, 1919. His brother died a few weeks later.

The 1918 flu pandemic, caused by a virus known earlier as the Spanish <x0ndgrip”, is estimated to have killed more than 50 million people worldwide and about 675,000 people in the United States alone, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
