The spread of the video-19 in most of the globe daily is taking on disturbing proportions, but regardless of how you look at numbers there's a state that stays separate from everyone; South Korea.
The first cases appeared in late February and early March, and within a few days, the number of infected persons reached thousands. The drinking of new cases reached February 29th, and the home of 50 million people in less than a week per halved cases and the same came in the coming days.
Tuesday's morning, Korea confirmed only 76 cases affected, preserving a falling trend of new cases and keeping the hopes that the second most affected country by COVID-19 in Asia has finally managed to be brought under control. The total number of infected reached 9,037.
South Korea is one of the only two states that has managed to change the trajector of the virus. At a time when the death toll has reached 17 365, all have looked to Korea for proper instruction.
What are the models for success?
1Intervention before the crisis, this has also been the main motto on which the Korean government has acted by taking immediate action. The government treated it as a national emergency before it was such by ordering numerous tests and introducing all suspected cases into quarantine.
2Tests over time and repeat tests over and over again, stressing that ongoing tests are the key to controlling the disease's trajectory.
