The chairman of the Commission for Legislation in the Kosovo Assembly, Driton Selmanaj, has said there are dilemmas about the government's decision Kurti to cut salaries, whether it is illegal or not.
I have my dilemmas about the decision to cut salaries, no matter how good it was, no matter how well the people expected it, but that decision can be made differently, because now the Budget Law is coming in here and it can come as a proposal and the Assembly has passed it, until the Constitutional Court's Act on the Law of Pays” was executed, Selmanaj said, on the “Law for Justice” show.
Selmanaj has said that good intent must be shared by legal and illegal decisions.
If that decision has been illegal, for salary increases, and why is the decision to cut salaries not against the law?
“The extraordinary goal, we need to understand, we need to separate the good aim from legal and illegal decisions”, he said.
Selmanaj said it should be careful to make such decisions, despite the fact that someone gets them as a result of lack of institutional experience and basic knowledge of laws in Kosovo.
“Therefore we need to be careful, no matter what one can make decisions such as the lack of institutional experience and basic knowledge of laws in Kosovo, but still it is the Prime Minister's Legal Office, it is the institutions that have continued there, which should at least be legal opinion to be correct”, the chairman of the Commission for Legislation in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo has said.
