The document, first of the British newspaper The Guardian, shows that health chiefs expect the virus to last another 12 months, and details how it will affect the main staff in NHS, police and firemen.
“About 80% of the population is expected to be infected with Covid-19 in the next 12 months, and as many as 15% (7.9 million people) can demand hospital hospitalization”.
The document was drafted in recent days by the health readiness and response team in England, KosovoPress broadcasts.
The document also finds that around 500,000 of the 5 million people considered vital as they work at essential services and in critical infrastructure will be sick at any time during a monthly peak of the epidemic.
This figure of 5 million includes 1 million NHS staff and 1.5 million working in social care.
A total of 40,227 people have been tested throughout Great Britain and the latest update comes after Health Secretary Matt Hancock said this morning that the elderly may have to be isolated for up to four months.
Otherwise, 38,907 people have turned negative against the disease, and 1,372 are positive.
