SBASAK threatens mass strikes if the Constitutional secession continues

If the Finance Ministry does not include them in the Law on this year's budget the financial means for implementing the Law of Pays, and if the Constitutional Court continues the suspension measure for this law, Kosovo education risks entering a general strike. The chairman of the SBASK, Nundman [...] has made that warning.
On Monday, the SBASK is expected to hold an extraordinary meeting with union-level mayors in the municipality, where the decision on steps to be taken will be made. Jasharaj said he expects the Constitutional Court not to continue the motion of suspending this law and since next month to begin its implementation.
“Based on communications with colleagues, the current situation on the ground is tense, as we have some information that in the budget Law, the budget will not be put forward for implementation of the wage Law. If that happens, we will get into a terrible situation, where tensions will increase, and the education system can turn January of last year on a general strike. I hope Kurti Government and Finance Minister to predict the means not to create such a situation”, SBASK Chairman Nman Jasharaj said.
The Constitutional Court has suspended the salary law until 30 March of this year. Through a written answer, the Constitution has told “The Cohe”, that the wage law issue is still under procedure and that given constitutional and legal norms in effect, this institution does not have any specific deadline for decision making.
The decision will be made after all claims made in the pre-decisive party's request, in accordance with the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, the Law for Constitutional Court, and with the Constitutional Court's Code of Labour”, the Constitutional Court's response is said.
Meanwhile, the Finance Ministry stressed that whatever the Constitutional decision on the Law of Pays is ready to respond.
“Finance and Transfers Minister Besnik Bislimi, along with the Ministry staff, is working intensively on harmonising the budget so that as soon as it is sent to the Government for approval and then for approval in the Kosovo Assembly”, the Ministry of Finance's response is said.
About SBASK's warning, “Koha” has attempted to take a position also from the Government of Kosovo, but has not received answers. On December 5th of last year, the Ombudsman's Institute has demanded interpretation by the Constitutional Court for the Law of Pays, because it has accepted 35 complaints of various subjects to this law. /Periscope
