Private Sector Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi has criticised the approach of government head Albin Kurti to the private sector.

Azem in an interview for Online Economy has said Kurti has not made the slightest movement regarding the private sector.

He also commented on the government leader's idea that the number of inspectors will increase to 400.

He said that “We have heard information that the prime minister has stated that the number of inspectors will be 400, but every day more and more despairs because what the prime minister said during the campaign and prior to the campaign will not be able to reflect because we have neither the slightest movement in terms of improvement in the private sector”.

He said they have applied for a meeting with Kurt to announce the situation in the private sector.

Azem accuses Government of not having time to deal with private sector representatives because they are positioned to take jobs for their relatives.

“We have made a request two weeks ago for a meeting with the prime minister and to announce with our first situation and with our demands, but we may be able to forgive him for another week because we know that his agenda is extremely tight, but the prime minister has his associates who are worth starting the initiative to change the minimum wage, for changing the number of inspectors, and they themselves have been declared to be the minimum wage wage 350 euros. They're mostly positioned to take seats for their relatives because for private sector workers we don't have any movement”.

In spite of how the Government of Kosovo reacts, it is very true that all of Kosovo cannot be put into protests because it is a very big organisation and a very big responsibility. While people in Telekom are reasonably accused of taking 12,000 euros, we are still telling Prime Minister Kurti that in the private sector, he is losing millions of euros with the continuation of this line that they have”, Azem told Online Economy.

The awareness of workers has contributed to the reduction in the number of deaths in the workplace, Azem said.

The last <x0 years have not increased the number of deaths in the workplace, in 2018 we have had 29 cases of job deaths up to 2019, and now in 2020 we have a case of death in the workplace. It's dropping the level even though it's a very large number but the level is dropping and maybe it's a credit to workers who are more or less conscious and who don't risk their lives in places where they see the risk of”.

Azem further stressed that the Inspectorate is bankrupt because in the municipality of Vushtrri, Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, and the entire region numbers about 15 thousand businesses and has only one active inspector.

I think the Inspectorate has bankrupted itself with the fact that in the municipality of Vushtrria, Mitrovica, Zubin Potok and all this region that accounts for having over 15 thousand businesses, there is only one active inspector and lets you know that the inspectorate is in bankruptcy”.
