From the date 08,02,2020 to 09,03,20, at the Medieval Microbiology Laboratory in IKSHPK with the RT- The PCR, a total of 62 suspicious samples in the SARS-CoV-2 virus have been tested, and all have resulted in negative.
The Kosovo National Public Health Institute (IKSHPK) during today's March 09th 2020 day has received information from the CKUK Infectious Clinic on five suspicious cases in COVID-19.
Patients were searched by the infected team at the CKUK Infectious Clinic and received samples for laboratory testing in the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
By the date of 09.03.20, in the IKSHPK Medieval Microbiology laboratory, five patients in the SARS-CoV-2 virus have been tested and have proved negative, that is, patients are not infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
From the date 01.0220 to 09.03.20 at the International Airport “Adem Jashari”, as well as at the border crossings, a total of 3,685 travelers have been dedicated. At the “Adem Jashari” 475 travellers, Merdare 1,579, Vermica 1,142, Jarinje 289, White Dehea 74, Hani of Elez 70, Tower 25, Qafe Morine 21 and Brnjak 7, Preush 2 and Globocica 1 travellers.
Monitoring activities, preventing widespread spread risk
COVID-19
The Committee to Monitor infectious diseases according to the risk assessment and with the aim of protecting the population and health workers, by the date 08.03.2020:
1. Reaffirmed the possibility of the temporary ban on air flights from Italy's epidemic areas, where there is high risk of spreading COVID-19 which has been sanctioned by the Italian government's rigorous measures that have quarantined the entire territory of Lombardia (16 million people) to prevent inflows from this large quarantine aimed at disrupting the spread of infection.
2. Stressed that the dynamic epidemiological situation in the epidemic countries requires review of other recommendations for eventual avoidances of the spread of travel lines or other means of communication.
3. Confirmed that monitoring measures have been reinforced, preventing the spread risk of COVID-19 that consists of:
a. Continued implementation of fundamental national response principles in the surveillance system.
b. Deposit and detection of suspicious cases, as well as conveying the dynamics of the disease;
c. Labal confirmation of reported cases;
d. Activating epidemic research teams;
IKSHPK's teams and Family Medicine Centres have doubled and are carefully conveying the epidemiological situation with Coronavirus to the opening points and the international airport “Adem Jashari”.
The activities recommended by the Committee to Monitor Infectious Diseases have continued with measures for preventing the virus in Kosovo educational institutions that consist in:
• Sharing educational materials and health promotions, mailmen and notebooks.
• Organising lectures dedicated to Coronavirus COVID- 19, organised by educators and professors with the support of IKSHPK public health specialists.

4. I The KSHPK points out that there is no room for panic but for added caution by repeating recommendations:

d. Wash your hands often, especially after direct contact with sick people or at home!
e. Wash your hands as soon as you get home!
f. Wash your hands before you start preparing food!
g. Wash your hands after using the toilet!
h. Wash your hands as often as you can with soap and water 2030 seconds, especially after direct contact with sick people or at home!
i. Avoid the use of public toilets!

Globally, from December 31, 2019 to March 09, 2020, total reports were reported
109,695 cases of COVIED-19 and a total of 3,811 cases of death, as far as the EU and United Kingdom, have been reported to 11,577 cases of COVID-19 and 396 cases of death in Italy (366), France (19), Spain (5), United Kingdom (3) and Holland (2).
In the event of changing or worsening the epidemiological situation with COVID-19 in Kosovo, recommendations could undergo changes. Citizens will be informed in real time of any such eventual change.
