Chief of the World Health Organization (OBSH), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreesesus, has said on Monday that the body's pandemic “has received momentum”. The “has taken 67 days from the first case to reach 100,000 cases; 11 days for the second 100 thousand; and only four days for the third 100-billion”, Ghebrreesus said at a news conference in Geneva.
He has also said he will address G20 leaders, or the group of more industrialized countries, this week, to ask them to work together in the production of protective equipment. WHO has declared Europe an epidex of pandemic.
Italy and Spain carry the largest number of victims and infected. Germany, France, Switzerland, and others follow. Most of the countries affected in the world have taken tough measures including isolation and closing borders in efforts to curb the spread of the disease.
