The OAK reiterates its request made to the Government so that the media can be included in the Government's additional salary scheme, just as it is envisioned at point 6.
This is done on the basis of the discussion that OAK has done with member media, which have shown great concern as a result of the created situation and the risk they are facing, with the aim of quick and accurate information of citizens.
“The work of the media on the ground poses not only direct risks to their work, but also they are jeopardising their families from a potential” infection, the OAK says.
OAK estimates that the Government should treat all equal citizens at this difficult time that we are all facing.
OAK is also seeking from the media, as they are reporting on regular grounds for all developments and are supporting institutions and businesses, to report on their poor status at this time.
