Prime Minister Albin Kurti has responded to news that Sierra Leone has drawn recognition of Kosovo. Although this has not yet been confirmed officially for Kosovo, it has been Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, who has said this state has recognised Kosovo.
In his Facebook script, Prime Minister Kurti says his good will for the partial removal of the tax, Serbia is responding with the intensifying of Kosovo's non-recognition campaign.
He writes on Facebook:
My good will, for the partial removal of the fee in the first subject imported from Serbia, in order to create the conditions for restarting dialogue and building constructive co-operation relations, the Serbian government is responding to the intensifying of Kosovo's campaign of recognition of independence.
I call on official Serbia to stop this offensive and give up destructive policies towards Kosovo and its citizenship. Also, I will seek from international relief factors -- primarily the United States and the EU -- as mediators in the dialogue process -- to increase pressure on Serbia to disrupt hostile policy towards Kosovo.
We have clearly shown that we have the will for correct and normal relations with Serbia. But we cannot allow our will to be overwhelmed.
As Kosovo prime minister to do soI carefully examine the situation created and I will act on the interests of the Republic and its citizens.
