Even in Kosovo, the consequences in the economy, according to them, are expected to be great. Economic growth, they say, will be much lower compared to predictions made by the country's institutions.
The Kosovo government, in the budget for 2020, has projected a 4.2 per cent increase.
But this economic growth, predicted by the Government of Kosovo, according to economic affairs expert Safet Gerjaliu, will not be achieved, following the situation created by the new coronary.
Gerjaliu, tells Radio Free Europe that the economic consequences from this situation, which is currently in many countries of the world and in Kosovo, will be great.
On a global scale economic growth of 2.8 percent will be impossible to achieve... will be about 2 percent (success). Even in Kosovo, the effects will be such that economic growth will be minority, but the essence is to have an orientation supporting the private sector so that the consequences will be smaller”, Gerjaliu says.
He adds that Kosovo authorities should be attentive to this situation in which the country is located. If the private sector, Gerjaliu adds, is facing difficulties, the consequences will also bear citizens, since businesses will not be able to meet their obligations unless they have economic activity.
“The impacts by the economic framework will be great for the fact that the Government of Kosovo does not have a clear approach to how to deal with the consequences of this crisis. In this direction I'm afraid the private sector will be the one who's going to be the most attractive”.
If we have the most advanced private sector, the burden will fall on citizens and in this direction, then what will be the institutional approach. I agree we have to be careful that the interest in protection of the citizen is much greater than in business, but even the private sector should be able to facilitate”, Gerjaliu says.
