The Foreign Affairs Commission has held the next meeting. It discussed the remaining work plan to be approved at the upcoming meetings as it was also debated over the request of the Minister of Konjufca to return some political ambassadors from diplomatic service.
LDK member Arben Gashi said this request should not be seen as a problem, as he considers all ambassadors in question were without mandate and contrary to the law.
However, it was agreed that the minister will be invited and report before the commission on this request, but also on the dismissal of the consoles.
I don't think there's any problem because there are political ambassadors to all those proposed for return as I saw them standing there in opposition to the law. Because the law says those appointed as political ambassadors serve only a 4-year term, while we have ambassadors who have been proposed for return and who are in the third term that is more than 5 years of standing illegal. So there's what the minister tells us because he's returned too many councils according to his reasoning that they are named political”, he said.
Gashi said all those who have been appointed politically should return themselves without any warrant and they should not charge you because they know they are on political mandate.
Anasander anga PDK, Ariana Shoshi, asked that new ambassadors be opened on several continents.
She also demanded that Minister Konjufca report on recent decisions.
We have 28 embassies and several consulates. We need to know from the minister whether this budget is enough. Should it grow or should it shrink? I also think it's very important to have an increasing number of embassies in some countries like Africa, Asia, South America. So let's know about plans and other projects that the minister thinks about development. As for the minister's report on his activities, it is important to have the minister here on March 6 or 9,”, she said.
VV member Fatmire Kolcak said the diplomatic choir should feel bad because the situation in recognition has never been worse.
It's never been worse than now with recognitions. We've got some gratitude going on for days. Doubts that there will be other recognitions. On the other hand, we have silence after the end of the diplomatic mandate. In public opinion, it seems that injustice is being done to our diplomatic representatives, ambassadors or consuls, as the violations that have been committed or overstepping the mandates based on law are being found. So we really have a huge job ahead of us in terms of oversight. This committee has to play its role. One of them is lobby”, she said.
Chairman Time Kadrijaj asked each member to be unified in Kosovo's presentation abroad.
Because we have a commission of particular importance we have to be unified in foreign policy because it is in the interest of the state and general interest to be in one voice. I believe how many times we've been abroad we've never spoken as an opposition position, but we have spoken as representatives of Kosovo”, she said.
The working plan for this Commission remained to be adopted after the government's strategy is cleared.
The commission finally decided to extend the invitation to Foreign Affairs Minister for next week to report before this commission.
