Alternative Speaker Mimoza Kusari-Lila reacted after not receiving an invitation from the country's president, Hashim Thaci, at meetings the head of state had with party leaders after his US visits. Kusari-Lila said she realized today that the country's president does not officially consider a woman chairman of the Alternative Party and former deputy prime minister.
“If the country's president considers himself and his role as a unifying factor for the country, then today as many times he and his cabinet showed that anything could be, only unifying. I don't know what their hint could be about this problem, but knowing that they always make sure they're filled with paper, I suggest they verify in the CEC who I represent”, Kusari-Lila wrote.
She said that, like many other cases in Kosovo, this situation shows the rhetoric hypocrisy for including women in political life by the president of the country.
“Alternative is the new party, still small, but the impact on certain occasions may be too big for changes in Kosovo”, Kusari-Lila followed.
The MP, who is part of the Vetevendosje Movement Parliamentary Group, said this reaction aims to show the cabinet and president's mistake in treating women in Kosovo politics.
