Merkel has been in quarantine since 22 March after having had contact with a doctor who resulted in positive coronavirus.

The third “came back negative for the Chancellor. Merkel will continue to carry out government duties from her house in the coming days,” spokesman Stephen Seibert said in a statement.

Though isolated in her home, Merkel has held government meetings through video conferences.
