The massive spread of corruption has caused defunctionalisation of the human transportation network in Kosovo as well.
Infrastructure Minister Lumir Abdixhiku has indicated that a large part of Kosovo citizens have remained abroad.
He said Kosovo has the obligation to care for its citizens, from which it has called on citizens who do not have the emergency return, to prolong their stay in EU states.
Kosovo has closed all flights to the “Adem Jashari” airport. Because of this, some of our citizens have remained out of bounds. As a country, we have an obligation to look after every citizen of our own that is beyond borders. As a government, we have begun the controlled and very carefully return of our citizens. Our embassies in Europe and beyond, continue to help prolong the right to stay at those places”, he said.
Abdixhiku further said that by this moment there are 834 citizens who want to return to Kosovo.
However, each person with an emergency return will receive the help of the Kosovo state. So far, 834 citizens who want to return to Kosovo have been registered. The Health Ministry has stood the student centre in Kosovo in the quarantine centre, and each returnee will be located at this centre for 14 days”, he has said.
Abdixhik has also announced that 180 citizens from Germany will return tomorrow, and that each will have strict care in quarantine at the student centre.
