President Trump's administration dismissed the chief expert at the White House for Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, who testified against the president during the investigation process that led to the raising of charges against Mr. Trump.
The lieutenant colonel was escorted outside the White House, where he worked at the National Security Council, his lawyer David Pressman said in a statement, writes Voice of America, broadcasts Klan Kosova.
There is no doubt in the minds of Americans why he was dismissed, why this country now has a less soldier serving in the White House. Lieutenant Colonel Vindman was asked to leave because he told the truth,” said Mr. Pressman.
Lieutenant Colonel Vindman testified during the investigation into the House of Representatives, the process aimed at raising charges against President Trump in November. He said the request President Trump made to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in a July 2019 call was inappropriate -- the request that later became the centre of the investigation.
Vindman said ahead of a commission run by the Democrats that “was not trusting the ears about what he was hearing” during the phone call. President Trump urged President Zelenskiy to begin investigations into Democrat rival Joe Biden, as well as about the allegations that Ukraine was, rather than Russia, after the intervention in the US's 2016 presidential election.
President Trump was acquitted in the Senate-controlled trial, who voted against charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress by President Trump.
Asked earlier Friday about reports that he could download Lieutenant Colonel Windman, President Trump told reporters: “I am not happy with him. Why, you think I'm satisfied with that?
The Vindman will be renamed to the Department of Defence is already announced.
