A young woman who doesn't work but stays at home to raise her children has opened a widespread debate on social networks. The woman relates that she wakes up every morning at 4:30 to prepare her husband for breakfast.
Brooke Smith, who is a mother of four from Brisbane, Australia, has received considerable criticism after sharing with people in a Facebook group the way he lives. Some have praised him. There have even been those who have described her as inspiring the way she does things and how she lives her life.
But most have been those and those social network users who have criticised its routine. According to them, each person in the home must shoulder his responsibilities and do the tasks he has to do.
Brooke explained in a Facebook post that she does not go to sleep before she completes important work that she does every night, even when she has to stay up until midnight.
Among other things, her post reads:
I always make sure that I have gone to bed after everyone's lunch is packed, their clothes are taken out and ready to be dressed the next day, including my husband's, the house is clean and the dishwasher has started her process. Sometimes I lie down at 9: 00 p.m. and sometimes at midnight, but I always get up early (04:30 for preparing breakfast and coffee) to have time for a hot cup of coffee, to adjust my hair, and to have some rest and to meditate. I also exercise and prepare for the day. A cheerful mother is equal to a happy home. Do things even when you do not want to do them, for you will feel happy next day”.
Brooke has been named as a well anointed “mac to do household chores and highly obsessed with where she lives. Her husband works 5-6 days a week in construction, and apparently he is not able to help with household maintenance at all.
One user praised Brooke for her efforts and all she does at home, but added:
You must share the workload, especially when you age. Teach your children to know how to do when they leave home. This gives you great satisfaction”.
Others, however, were much tougher. One commentator wrote:
My mother did this for my father. Dad was born in 1929, and Mother was born in 1931. Now it's 2020. My husband does his job, bathes and dresses himself. My kids make their own breakfast”.
