Saudi Arabia arrests men's friziers who cut women's hair

The picture was followed by a video of a man who published it in Snapchat with a lot of sexism and anger, detailing how one woman noticed serving in the men's living room in which he goes. Although he did not mention the name of the salon or the location, he shared details of the event by saying:

“I was cutting my hair when I saw a woman do the same thing in the chair next to me. I looked at him and then at the barber, who asked me what was wrong.”

“So you're now giving the car and you're looking for terrible things on Twitter and the hashtag, but come and cut your hair next to me, no, this is just unacceptable.”, he says.

The person in question goes on to say that his barber told him that this is a common phenomenon, explaining that the salon often serves female customers.

The picture and video sparked a reaction so intense that they led authorities to launch an investigation into the living room employees. It took several hours for the police to locate and identify the defendants, who were later investigated and referred to the prosecution.

Workers may face imprisonment, since it is illegal for male salons to provide services for women. It remains unclear whether the woman who appeared in the photograph could also face legal consequences.

This news angered many on Twitter, who urged authorities to explain whether they have allowed men's halls to serve women.

Authorities responded with arrests and an announcement, clarifying that they had given no orders to allow hairmakers to welcome female customers in their living quarters.

This clarification did not affect the calming of people on the Internet who still debate the issue. Some attacked the halls of men welcoming women, saying their actions constitute clear violations of the laws, values and traditions of the ultra-conservative kingdom.

Others thought that people were making a big deal of just personal freedom.
