In the Serbian Defence Ministry's statement, Volin, among other things, was quoted as saying that, “the formation of the Kosovo Army and its arming are unacceptable”.
As the Balkan Radio Service Free Europe reports, Voulin and Shoigu have focused on their countries' co-operation in defence and on strengthening future ties.
The Russian minister said joint exercises of both armies are the best indicator of close relations.
Voulin thanked the Russian Federation for the military and technical assistance it offers to Serbia's military.
“Only in 2019 have 94 activities been realised under international military co-operation with the Russian Federation. Defence co-operation is conducted in line with the Strategic Partnership Declaration”, the defence ministry in Belgrade said.
Shoigu during his visit to Serbia will meet with the president of this country, Aleksandar Vuciq.
In November last year, the US Department of Defence has issued a document in which Serbia-Russia relations have been said to have been strengthened since Vuciqi's move to power in 2012.
