A person in Washington's state has died of Coronavirus, marking the first case of death in the United States. The news was announced Saturday by public health officials. They did not give much detail while warning a press conference later in the day.
On Friday, the United States reported the fourth case with coronarys, which authorities say are not yet clear about the way they infect them.
The newest case was confirmed in Washington State. Authorities in Oregon also reported Friday on a patient who, according to them, allegedly could be the host of the virus, the other two cases have been identified in California.
Since early Saturday morning in the United States numbers at least 67 confirmed cases of COVID-19, most of the infected are passengers returning home from the cruise ship “Dymond Princess”, which was placed for several days in quarantine on the coast of Japan.
Coronavius spread to seven other countries in the world on Friday, causing the World Health Organization to raise the risk alarm at the highest level.
Mexico, Nigeria, New Zealand, Lithuania, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Iceland reported their first cases of virus on Friday.
Already the number of countries hit by COVID-19 has reached about 60.
Worldwide, the virus has killed more than 2,900 people while resulting in over 85 thousand cases of people infected by it. /voa
