The Social Democrat Party through a communique for the media says lawyer Tome Gashi's case should not go through without denouncing.
"Tomke Gashi, a sexist lawyer who I believe his power and privileges come from his spirit knowledge of justice. On the other hand, a beggar on the street in the center of the capital destroys his idilica. For reached Toma, the beggar's situation has nothing to do with what he has learned about justice”, says the communiqué of this party, which you can read full below:
Against Violence Against the Overwhelming
A few days ago we witnessed an unprecedented attack. It was attorney Tome Gashi, a prominent man dressed in material and symbolic powers who hit a beggar in downtown Pristina. The lifeguards of the city are the forgotten and unsavory of our everydayity. Used, expelled, now kicked.
Every time we walk next to them, we can't turn around and watch. Each beggar on the street disturbs the fetishes of normalities, the peace each of us has made in relation to the society in which we live. Not accepting a truth that each of us knows, but accepting it is of great price: Yet, all of us are part of such a society!
In Kosovo, criticism of state power is not enough. We need social criticism, punishment and resistance to various forms of oppression and dominance.
The case in question is not to be missed because we face two figures that are an illustration of social reality. Tome Gashi, a sexist lawyer who I believe his power and privileges are due to his knowledge of justice. On the other hand, a beggar on the street in the center of the capital destroys his idilica. For reached Toma, the beggar's situation has nothing to do with what he taught him about justice.
