Kosovo's National Public Health Institute (IKSHPK) during today, on February 25, 2020, has received information from the CKUK Infectious Clinic for three suspicious cases in Coronavirus COVID-19.
Patients were searched by the infected team at the Influencial Clinic in QKUK and received samples for laboratory testing in the SARS-CoV-2 virus and Influenza A and B.
The Moldovan Microbiology Laboratory Team at IKSHPK has tested the SARS virus CoV-2 and influential A and B by method r RT- PCR of all three patients.
Tests have resulted negative for all three tests, so all three patients are not infected with the SARS-CV-2 virus either with Influence A and B.
Monitoring activities, preventing the spread of COVID-19
- At the meeting held at the Ministry of Health with relevant government institutions, the health minister today decided to establish the Steering Committee for managing the emergency situation with COVIID-19, the pre-eminent body with the Readiness and Answer Plan.
- The Committee to Monitor infectious diseases has found that monitoring measures, preventing the spread of COVID-19 consisting of:
- Continued implementation of fundamental national response principles in the surveillance system.
• Deposit and detection of suspicious cases as well as conveying the dynamics of the disease; - Labal confirmation of reported cases;
• Activating epidemic research teams;
- IKSHPK's teams and Family Medicine Centres are paying attention to the epidemiological situation with Coronavirus at land openings and international airport “
- The activities recommended by the Committee to Monitor Infectious Diseases have continued with measures for preventing the virus in Kosovo educational institutions that consist in:
• Sharing educational materials and health promotions, mailmen and notebooks.
• Organising lectures devoted to knowledge pʹer Coronavironson COVID- 19, organised by educators and professors with the support of IKSHPK public health specialists.
• The step company under the IKSHPK recommendation that all school institutions become the added disinfectation of all the Sanitary surfaces and joints.

The exchange of interinstitution information has been established between the Ministry of Health, I KSHPK, Situation Centre, Emergency Management Agency, SHSKUK, AUV, QKMFs, Kosovo Police, F SK, August. - IK The KPS points out that there is no room for panic but for added caution by repeating recommendations:
- Avoid close contact with people who suffer from acute respiratory infections!
- Whenever possible, avoid greeting with a handshake.
• Avoid hugs and kisses as long as you are in danger of respiratory infections! - Wash your hands often, especially after direct contact with sick people or at home!
- Wash your hands as soon as you get home!
• Wash your hands before you start preparing food!
• Wash your hands after using the toilet!
• Wash your hands as often as you can with soap and water 2030 seconds, especially after direct contact with sick people or at home! - Avoid the use of public toilets!
- Wash your hands every time you sneeze or cough!
• Avoid touching your face, and cover your mouth and nose with bandages, sleeves, or forearms during coughing and sneezing. Then drop the bandages used in the nearest waste basket! - If you have fever, cough, and trouble breathing, seek medical help immediately and tell the evental story of travel abroad!
- Sick people must stay at home in order to prevent the spread of the disease!
- Do not frequent closed and crowded environments!
• Drink as much water, juice, lemon tea!
• The elderly and the chronically ill if they use public transportation to use masks! - During your trip, use packed food!
• Those who have been in Wuhan province, China, or areas affected by COVID-19 in the last two weeks and have fever, cough, or breathing difficulties should immediately seek medical help! - Within the facilities of health care institutions, to strengthen the standard practice of preventing infection and control in hospitals, especially in emergency services!
- IK The KPS recommends that everyone not travel to China or countries with Coronavirus if not necessary!
Globally, between December 31, 2019 and February 25, 2020, an estimated 80 377 cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,707 cases of death were reported until 276 cases of COVID-19 and 7 cases of death in Europe.
In the event of changing or worsening the epidemiological situation with COVID-19 in Kosovo, recommendations could undergo changes. Citizens will be informed in real time of any such eventual change.
