In an interview for REL, Palmer said the US is concerned about Russia's goals and activities in the Western Balkans.
According to him, the Russians want the Western Balkans to be an area where they “can bring down the level of tensions”.
Palmer has been named as the US State Department for the Western Balkans in August last year.
A few months later, United States President Donald Trump has chosen US Ambassador to Germany Richard Green, sent to his administration in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
Grenelli has made several visits to Kosovo and Serbia in an effort to push the parties towards normalising relations.
Palmer, in an interview for a Serbia television in December, has said the US wants to see full normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, which would imply mutual recognition.
Pristina and Belgrade “should sit at the table, reach agreement and together set the way to the European future”, the Palmer world has said.
