On March 15th, we drop the tax in part: All that Kurt said during the conference.

Kurti has announced that on March 15th the 100 per cent fee will be removed only for the first substance imported from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He has shown how he will act after 15 March, thus setting conditions for the Serbian state and the European Union.

Otherwise, Kurti had said that the tax would be removed as soon as the reciprocity measure is decided for this measure Kurti to give Serbia time and not to decide as he has stated several weeks earlier.

Full word of Prime Minister Kurti:

After meetings with ods and different local entrepreneurship associations, and especially with our producers, and after reading the analysis of reciprocity on the missing reciprocity with Serbia, worked by the Ministry of Economy, Employment, Trade, Industry, Strategic Investments, I have come to this position as far as the fee is concerned:

The first, like the Government of Kosovo, during the next week, will make the decision -- as early as March 15th 2020 -- to lift the tariff for the first subject imported from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is as a sign of our goodwill and readiness for the beginning of the actual resolution of economic, trade and political disputes with Serbia.

2. We invite Serbia to, in response to this decision by the Kosovo side, pledge that it will cease the campaign to recognise Kosovo's independence and also start eliminating non-tariff trade barriers to Kosovo. If the Serbian side proves true devotion in stopping the non-friendly campaign and vows to quickly remove non-tariff barriers with Kosovo, then starting April 1st 2020, the Kosovo government will completely lift the fee for imports from Serbia and BiH for a period of 90 days.

3. The European Union will assess the Kosovo side's decision to lift the 100% fee, offering visa liberalisation before the Zagreb Summit on May 7th 2020.

4. If Serbia does not respect the good will of the Government of Kosovo for the elimination of economic, trade and political barriers in bilateral reports and therefore does not shut down the non-friendly campaign on the international level and does not start with the removal of barriers in relations with Kosovo, then the Government of Kosovo, starting from April 1st, will start with the gradual implementation of the reciprocity principle, once in the field of trade and then in economic and political relations.

5. If the Serbian side does not reflect even after a period of 90 days from the initial decision to lift the fee for import of raw materials, then the Government of Kosovo will return the fee for imports from Serbia by June 15th, as the implementation launched on April 1st of reciprocity continues.

6. The European Union and the United States come out early with detailed and time-term instruments listing benefits from the sincere commitment of parties to overcoming trade, economic and political barriers; mechanisms for identifying and addressing precisely the eventual failure to meet obligations on the parties; and, as well, listing consensuss for the ongoing non-cooperative side.

7. Reassessing this decision depends on the results it produces in achieving these goals. Total trade, economic and political resolution is installed after June 15th.

Here with me are some of our producers, with whom I had an appointment before I came here, within these last few weeks when I intensified contact, communication, meetings and cooperation with local producers.

Meanwhile, the 100 per cent tax on goods coming from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina has also requested the Democratic League of Kosovo. Deputy Prime Minister Hoti has stated that the tariff must be removed and good reports should be preserved with the United States of America and European Union countries.

In addition, tax evasion has been repeatedly demanded by the United States, US Special Envoy Richard Green has said tax must be removed and reciprocity should not be imposed.

The 100 per cent tax on Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was imposed during Ramush Haradinaj's rule in November 2018.
