This has been confirmed by LDK spokesman Besian Mustafa, who has said they were unanimously in favour of the agreement with Vetevendosje.
The “unanimously, with no vote against, no abstention, has approved the LDK-LVV agreement for co-government”, Mustafa said.
The Democratic League of Kosovo has completed the assembly of the party's General Council. Agreement was ratified at this meeting with VVA, which was signed today by leaders of both parties.
Before launching the meeting with members of the Council, LDK leader Isa Mustafa said the LDK's position has been representation not only in government, but also in higher bodies.
Whatever we've taken as a stand, and we've been convinced that it's the position of the LDK General Council, it's the sharing of responsibilities in co-governance into proper compliance with the vote we have received from citizens. Also, we are committed not to be represented in government, but to be represented even in the highest bodies such as the Parliament and later the issue of Republika” president, Mustafa said.
Mustafa added that the VVA has been talking long, but these talks have led to harmonisation of the governing programme in all areas.
He also spoke of the number of ministries, stressing that coalition partners will have between 6, while minorities 3.
We have eventually agreed that the government will have 15 ministries, of which 12 have two main partners LDK and VV, out of 6, from a deputy prime minister, while another 3 for communities. If the question is asked why the number of ministries has been increased, I will say it has been done with the candidate proposal for prime minister, with the reasons we have deemed stable, that it will not waste time joining the lists of ministries that have acted separately. They are inherited 21, and of the 21 are sitting in 13, there are 6 less”, Mustafa said.
Mustafa also spoke on the issue of the country's president, where he said it would be settled between leaders of both parties.
“As far as the president of the country is concerned, we have agreed that the issue will be settled between the two leaders, as the special act of the agreement, and that's what we overstepped, is a matter that remains for us, we have agreed not to open it now for discussion”, Mustafa said.
Mustafa further said the LDK's deputies would be in the Assembly on Monday to vote over the decision to be made today at the party's General Council.
The agreement is essentially concluded, we definitely do at this meeting of the LDK General Council as we have it in order. Our deputies will be in the assembly tomorrow, I firmly believe they will vote in addition to the decision the LDKI general council makes”, Mustafa said.
