Lawyers' Oda launches disciplinary procedure against Tome Gashi after kicking the beggar's money

The protest was called by Your Initiative for Human Rights Kosovo YIHR, where protesters strongly condemned the lawyer Gashi's move.

We are gathered here to express our indignation at an act that lawyer Tome Gashi had made days ago. As you all know, a video that has become viral in social networks, where Gashi is seen kicking the money of a person who has been seeking charity in Mother Teresa Square, we as the initiative of young people for human rights and as part of civil society severely condemn his” action, said Pira from YIHR Kosovo.

Egyptian MP Veton Berisha, who has supported the protest, has reacted to the move, adding that to impose order and law, competent organs.

I have not felt well with Mr. Gashi, since he is a known personality and knows human justice and rights. I think Gashi is out of his power. We as citizens have only the right to help the state combat negative phenomena, while in Tome Gashi's case, he has lost patience and has taken over state affairs”, MP Veton Berisha has said.

Today, meanwhile, the Kosovo Lawyers' Oda has indicated that it has initiated the disciplinary procedure against lawyer Gashi.

“In the media has circulated a video about the behaviour of attorney Tome Gashi, where the prosecutor's office, which operates under the Kosovo Lawyers' House, has filed the protocol on this case, which will address it further in disciplinary procedure. It's worth saying we've even received a complaint from a citizen about this matter”, said Florim Shefqeti, director of the OAK.
