In Kosovo the risk is low for coronavirus

During this meeting, it has been discussed the great importance of co-operation and co-ordination with all responsible institutions for preparedness in response to such situations.
The alertness and willingness of epidemiologists for early detection and the timely response of any such case in Kosovo were also praised.
The theme of the discussion was the current situation with Novel Coronavirus COVID-19, preventative measures and management of situations in case of suspicion/confirmation of cases with Novel Coronavirus COVID-19. Once again, the importance of co-operation and co-ordination with all institutions, which are responsible for readiness and response in such situations, has been stressed. The alertness and readiness of epidemiologists for early detection were praised at any moment of doubt over the announcement of cases with Novel Coronavirus COVID-19”, the IKSHPK communiqué says.
IK The KPS has also announced the situation the countries affected by this virus are facing.
After the latest OBS report, 43,103 cases of Novel Coronavirus COVID-10 have been confirmed worldwide. Of them, 42/708 are in China, 7,333 in serious condition and 1/017 cases of death. In other countries outside China 395 cases have been confirmed in 24 countries and a case of death in the Philippines. So far in Kosovo no case has been recorded with Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 and the threat to the new Coronavirus-19 in Kosovo remains low”, said the communiqué.
IK The KPS has also provided a list of advices to follow to prevent virus infection like:
Avoid close contact with people who suffer from acute respiratory infections.
- The frequent washing of hands, especially after direct contact with sick people or at home.
- Avoid touching the face and covering the mouth and nose with bandages, sleeves, or forearms during coughing and sneezing. Bury the bandages used in the nearest waste basket.
- If you have fever, cough, and trouble breathing, seek medical help immediately and tell the evental history of travel abroad.
- Sick people must stay at home in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
- Avoid closed and overloaded places.
- The people who have been in Wuhan province, China, in the last two weeks and have fever, cough, or breathing difficulties, should immediately seek medical help.
- Within the facilities of health care institutions, to strengthen the standard practice of preventing infection and control in hospitals, especially in emergency services.
- IK The KPS recommends that everyone not travel to China unless necessary.
In the event of changing or worsening the epidemiological situation with the new COVID-19 in Kosovo, recommendations may undergo changes and you will be informed of them over time.
