Authorities in this troubled region have exacerbated security measures by closing shops and stopping the cycle flow since the December and January attacks organised by jihadists killed 174 Nigeria soldiers.
In the past two years, the emergency situation has been in effect in this region, writes the Guardian”, broadcast the Express.
Since 2015, Nigeria has faced a wave of attacks near the border with Mali and Burkina Faso. This situation has forced some 78 thousand people to move out of their homes.
France has said it will increase its military presence in the troubled West African region by sending 600 additional troops to the mission made up of 4,500 soldiers.
