From 1999 to 2017, the spent electricity bills of North Mitrovica residents Zubin Potok, Zvecan and Leposaviqi have never paid the current.

The bills spent on that part have been billed to citizens of other parts of Kosovo. After much complaints, the Court of Appeals, late 2017, had decided to suspend this practice because it was illegal.

But, the new government is expected to allocate 15m euros from the state budget to pay off electricity in the four northern municipalities.

Although it has not been long since the country's Prime Minister Albin Kurti was appointed to the post, in the first interview in this quality he has considered such a thing to be unfair, yet it is reportedly going to be relaxed in the matter.

We believe this is unfair. There is a failure of rule of law and rule of law in this respect as well. We need to examine it with our ministers, especially those who have energy in their wallet. To make a decision that is as fair and as useful as”, Kurti said in Rubikon when asked whether he will pay the electricity to the northern Serbs.

For the Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms ( KMDLNj if the Kurti Government will continue this unfair practice against citizens of other parts of Kosovo, it will be described as the government that violates equal rights. KMDLNj chairman Behxhet Shala has told Periskopi that such a decision would favour a part of Kosovo's citizens who are non-Albanians and who even do not recognise Kosovo institutions.

For 15 years, regular consumers have been damaged by stealing the means to pay the electricity for northern Serbs. If the Kurti Government still has no confirmation to do this practice, it will be identified as the Government that violates equal rights, favouring those who also do not accept Kosovo institutions, as regular consumers with difficulty manage to pay off debt”, Shala has declared.

He has even cited the controversy KMDLNI has repeatedly made against this issue.

We've actually opposed that someone because of ethnic affiliation be relieved of his obligations to the expenses that he uses at best. We had requested that investigations be made if other consumers pay their bills to Serbs. We asked that consumers be compensated by lowering their bills, but it seems that there was only one fraud of”, Shala said away.

He has asked the Kurti Government to treat all citizens equally.

Even renowned Kosovo analyst Ramush Tahiri has told Periskopi that regardless of national and religious affiliation, citizens who exploit services must cover expenses themselves.

The spent <x0).

Tahiri, however, has stressed that the government of Kosovo before Albin Kurti has sold or awarded the distribution of the electricity under specific terms of investment in networks and maintenance and electrification, and the Government has obligations to create conditions for debt collection and payments.

“With the agreement in Brussels, the Government has been tasked with creating a new Elektrosever company that has not been made. So as in some other cases (feronical) government is obliged to cover the expenses”, Tahiri stressed.
