Kosovo's renowned politician and businessman has asked the Kurti Government to lift the excise of non-alcohol beverages producers.
Dress has made that request even as part of the Association of Non-alcohol Drink Producers in Kosovo.
The renowned businessman has said that if this excise is removed, increased production capacities will be allowed and jobs will increase.
The same had previously been requested by the Yoalkolic Drink Producers Association.
“As a former colleague in parliament, as a businessman and, above all, as a citizen, expressed the most sincere congratulations on the high and responsible task of guiding the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
First we want to let them know that in the Republic of Kosovo, in their products, nonalcoholic beverages, the excise applies with the rate of 0.045/0 local liter and 0.045 per import.
If you look at and compare with the states of the region and the EU, then you will see that these countries do not apply at all the excise on non-alcohol products (place and import) products, and those states are: Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia, where in these last two countries after the research we've done, this issue is regulated with the Actic Law, so that the excises only apply to oil derivatives, tobacco products, coffee and electricity, while no electricity is applied at all.
Seeing that Kosovo is considered the state with the lowest economic indicators in the region, we as the Association assess that nonalcoholic beverages producers, if they are even further charged with this excise, will be placed in a very difficult position to do business, and in the impossible of competing with imported products, will be forced to reduce their production capacities or even move towards bankruptcy, which will result in reducing jobs, companies' income, and all of this will have the impact of Kosovo's economy development.
We point out that with this type of nonalcoholic beverage production in the Republic of Kosovo, some companies have made large and continuous contributions, as in the range of workers who have hired them, and have also contributed to the increase in Kosovo's budget because of the tax they pay, because they enter the group of large taxpayers many companies.
Since in countries of the region and in several EU states, according to their laws and practices, no such excise applies at all, we lead you through this letter of request, Mr. Prime Ministers express our request that by helping the business community in general and nonalcohol producers in particular, we will be allowed to increase our production capacities, which will automatically reflect on the growth of our investments in non-alcoholics (litrons) equipment, and will also affect the growth of jobs from 15 to 20 to % business that operate on each of the drinks in Kosovo and non-coholic).
