Gent Cakaj: Border between Kosovo and Albania must not exist

Albanian Foreign Affairs Minister Gent Cakaj has said the border between Kosovo and Albania should not exist.

We really are two states, but we have one nation. The border between Kosovo and Albania should be lifted immediately and our citizens should enjoy unlimited circulation freedom and unhindered opportunities for deepening economic interaction”, Cakaj said.

He said he has confirmed to Konjufca the Albanian state's readiness to continue the joint embassy project.

Cakaj added that they have today addressed some problems with Konjufca, such as that of joint embassies.

With Mr. Conjufca has discussed some problems that are essential to cooperation. We expressed readiness for the development of joint embassies. We are willing to continue in the same practice in a considerable way. I want to stress that I consider that we need concrete co-operation and meetings of both governments, I have proposed to Mr. Konjufca two initial agreements, the first is that we should gather to sign a spending sharing agreement in a campaign to lobby Kosovo recognitions.
