The name “facebook” comes from a set of words for textbooks that equip students in several American universities.
Founders had initially restricted Facebook membership only for Harvard students, but later expanded it for Boston, Princeton, Yale, Stanford.
Gradually, Facebook was opened to students at colleges and other universities, then to high school students, and finally to all 13-year-olds around the world.
In 2012, Facebook was praised as a business company worth $104 billion.
Facebook has known only growth in incomes and in the number of users, while in recent years it has been involved in a scandal for selling personal data to users for what founder Mark Zuckerberg was forced to respond to American authorities.
