President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's adviser, Mesut Hakkı Chaşın has said that Turkey fought Russia 16 times in the past and “will fight it again”, following an attack by the Syrian Army where 33 Turkish soldiers died.
Caşın told Russia's considerable Muslim population and saying Russia “would be destroyed from within” if an armed conflict breaks out between Moscow and Ankara.
“We have fought Russia 16 times in the past, and we will fight it again,” he said on TV Haber.
