He said all decisions should be made on the basis of rigorous scientific assessment of the coronary and should be proportional and coordinated.
“The issue of travel bans and border controls is a matter for various countries. So far they have been well co-ordinated, but they can always improve, and I'm not just talking about co-operation among EU countries, but also outside the EU”, he added.
The commissioner said it is up to member states to look into and assess the situation in the fight against the spread of the coronary.
