The White House, has announced that during an anti-terrorism operation in Yemen, the leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist organisation has been killed in the Arabian Peninsula, Qasim al-Rimi.
In a written statement the White House announced that “The US at the order of President Donald Trump, conducted an operation against terrorism, in Yemen, where the founder and leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist organisation in the Arabian Peninsula, Qasim al-Rimi” was killed.
“Rimi had joined Al-Qaeda in the 1990s and worked with Osama bin Laden. The al-Qaeda terrorist organisation under Rim leadership in the Arabian Peninsula has carried out irresponsible attacks on civilians in Yemen. This organization has also carried out many attacks against The US and our forces”, said in the statement.
Further in the statement, it notes that Al-Rimi's murder in the ongoing operation would weaken the presence of Al-Qaeda on the Arabian Peninsula and around the world, and that a step has been made in eliminating these organisations that threaten US national security.
With Ram killing our interests and our allies are safer. We will continue to protect the American people, following the trail and eliminating these terrorists trying to harm us”, the White House statement said.
