The first 18 thousand refugees from Turkey arrive in Greece, as President Erdogan said he would open borders and keep them open

Whatever we did yesterday, we opened the doors. That's how we will keep them, because the European Union must keep its promises”, Erdogan said in Istanbul, in the first appearance following the killing of 33 Turkish soldiers in Syria, Television broadcasts.
The Turkish leader also said 18 thousand refugees have gathered on Turkish borders with Europe since yesterday, adding that during today the number could reach as many as 30,000.
The refugees carried out various attacks on the guards, opening various holes in the border fences and trying to cross but returning from tear gas and small grenades spreading sparks.
The move taken by Greece is considered a deliberate move to pressure European states. But the situation changed after Turkish soldiers were killed by Syrian forces.
During his speech, Erdogan again indicated that he would not close the borders while insisting that the European Union should keep its promises.
