Its statement came after the European Drug Agency's decision to draw the date of possible approval of the company's “Pfixer” and “B NTech” for eight days, from December 29th to December 21.
Following the possible adoption of this vaccine by the European regulator, the European Commission is expected to formally approve within three days the use of Pfizer's vaccine, following consultations among governments of 27 member states.
The European Commission's decision to adopt medical products is usually in line with the recommendations of the European Drug Agency. If this agency gives positive recommendation, the European Commission's role is expected to be only formality.
European Union member states can begin the vaccine process shortly after granting approval by the European Commission, writes The Guardian.
