Mr. Barr, in a letter to President Trump posted by the republican president on Twitter, said he would leave the post on December 23rd.
The letter comes as Mr. Barr informed the president about the review the Department of Justice had made concerning President Trump's campaign for voter fraud in the 2020 elections.
In it, Mr. Barr promises that claims filed by President “will continue to be followed”.
On paper, Mr. Barr also praised what he calls President Trump's historic record, saying it has helped boost the economy, strengthen the army and curb illegal immigration.

Mr. Barr's political fate was in question since last week, when he declared that a Justice Department investigation had found no sign of major manipulation in the November elections, rejecting President Trump's claims.
President Trump's legal team had accused Mr. Barr of failing to conduct the appropriate investigation.
Over the weekend, President Trump viciously attacked Mr. Barr on Twitter after a report in the Wall Street Journal that the Attorney General was aware earlier this year of an investigation into the taxes of Mr. Biden's son, Hunter.
President Trump published on Twitter a comment by radio moderator Todd Starnes, who said Mr. Barr should be downloaded. President Trump wrote on Twitter.
