Trump decorations Grenelli due to his success with Kosovo

“Ambassador Richard Green has been honoured for his extraordinary contribution to enable the historic signing of normalisation of economic relations between Serbia and Kosovo. Under this agreement, Serbia and Kosovo restored direct air, railway and highway ties, key infrastructure projects needed to facilitate economic growth and the timely transfer of goods and people”, Trump has said in his decision.

Ambassador Green made the announcement through a post on the Instagram social network.

This agreement is an important step towards building a more peaceful, secure and prosperous Europe. Ambassador Green's contributions to achieving this historic diplomatic progress in Serbia and Kosovo will lead to a brighter future for millions of people”, it is said in the decision.

Grenelli was appointed special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue in October 2019, while serving as the United States' ambassador to Germany.

Kosovo and Serbia have signed two documents on 4 September in Washington to normalise economic reports, in the presence of US President Donald Trump.
