The government will start talks with 26 cantons due to the proposal of new measures, and the announcement came after competent authorities reported that another 92 people died as a result of COVID-19, Reuters reports.
After receiving an answer from the cantons, the Swiss government plans to meet again on Friday, before adopting a decision on new measures to take effect over the weekend.
The government also plans to order the closure of restaurants, shops and markets at 7000, and the move will be in effect until January 20th.
It is also planned to limit the number of people who can gather at a house in five. The number of people infected in Switzerland and Liechtenstein is currently 358,568, which is 4,262 more than yesterday, while 5,116 people have died as a result of the disease so far.
Authorities warn that the number of new coronary cases is on the rise and that there are fewer and fewer places in intensive care units.
